A Sorcerer with The Black Tower of Albion, and an associate of Arthur Chesker. The two are frequently mistaken for brothers, further confused by the fact that they refer to each other as "Brother," but the two are not actually related by blood. Rather they are members of the fraternal order of the Black Tower.
Amalek is a powerful sorcerer and an investigator associated with the Strazockski. He appears in Tiger's Gate, a novel set in Tattered Realms.
Appearance[]
Richard Amalek stands at about 6'2, is fair-skinned and blonde with blue eyes. He wears his hair slicked back, and is clean-shaven. His facial featuers are described as handsome and cruel. He looks very similar to Arthur Chesker, and the two are frequently mistaken for brothers. The chief difference is that Richard has smile-lines on his face, whereas Arthur has none, making them look nearly the same, but Richard looking slightly older. Telgar loses track of which one is which multiple times in his fight with them.
Abilities[]
Amalek is a skilled swordsman and a powerful sorcerer. Unlike Arthur, he lacks the ability to read faces, and does not specialize in manipulation or persuasion. His strength lies in his eidiomatic memory and his savant skill as a sorcerer. Unlike Arthur, he has a sense of humor, and sometimes relieves tense situations with jokes or witticisms
Trivia[]
-"Amalek" is an Old-Testament Biblical (HaTorah) term referring to an ancient enemy of the Jews, destined to be their enemies for eternity. In Tiger's Gate, the term is also used as a term for the entirety of Vosca or Mundus. This may be tied to the cosmology of the setting, in which the omnipotent God is not present, perhaps because his people (The Mikanni) were destroyed by the Orredin in the distant past.
-Jimmy Rome has admitted that he named Richard and Arthur "the two most stereotypically Anglo-Saxon names" he could think of.
