The Sugilite Order is a group of religious extremists who make up one of Illegon's Holy Orders. The Sugilite Order is fairly traditional, and are dedicated to pursuing Illegon and Genosism's interests abroad in crusades and conquests. They are considered dangerous fanatics, even by the Pontifatrix in Illegon, because they see it as their duty to go farther than they are ordered to ensure the victory of their side over infidels, even if they are punished for it later.
One of the Grandmasters of the Sugilite Order, Bacchus Sulla, was executed for massacring many thousands of Pagans in the Kaselreich, despite explicit orders to the contrary by the Pontifatrix herself. This seems to be a habit of theirs, perhaps performed out of a sense of misguided loyalty – the Sugilite Order believes that the Pontifatrix must keep up a benevolent face, and so they perform her "dirty work" for her and then accept the punishment – even if it is death – as a way of saving face for her. On the surface this sounds insane, and certainly many members of the Order have been executed for their treasonous behavior before. However, the Order has never been disbanded despite repeated incidents of this sort. The logical conclusion is one that no man who values his life would dare utter in Ruvia: The Sugilite Order is functioning precisely as intended.
